What is VestWiz?
VestWiz is a set of free, browser-based tax estimators for US employees with equity compensation. They surface the tax traps that come with equity — flat 22% withholding that doesn't match your marginal rate, AMT bills on ISO exercises, ESPP cost-basis mistakes — before they become April surprises.
Who is VestWiz for?
All US employees with equity compensation, not just tech workers. If your employer grants you RSUs, incentive stock options, nonqualified stock options, or ESPP shares, these tools are for you — whatever industry you're in.
What do the free calculators cover?
- RSU withholding gap — the extra tax you'll owe beyond the flat 22% your employer withholds at vest.
- ISO / AMT — your potential Alternative Minimum Tax hit when exercising incentive stock options.
- ESPP — taxes on qualifying vs. disqualifying dispositions of employee stock purchase plan shares.

Is this tax advice?
No. VestWiz provides estimates for informational purposes only and does not constitute tax, legal, or financial advice. Equity situations get complicated fast — multi-state moves, disqualifying dispositions, AMT credit carryforwards — and a qualified tax professional (CPA or Enrolled Agent) is worth the fee when real money is on the line.
Is my data private?
Yes. The free calculators run entirely in your browser — your salary, share counts, and results never leave your device. VestWiz Pro account data (saved vests, offers, reminders) is stored securely and is never sold or shared. See the full privacy policy.
What does VestWiz Pro include?
VestWiz Pro — $199/year — adds planning tools for people managing equity year-round:

How do I cancel Pro?
You can cancel anytime from your account dashboard. Your Pro access stays active until the end of your current billing period — there's no partial-period penalty and no dark patterns. See the refund policy for how refunds work.
What's the refund policy?
Refund within 14 days of your initial Pro purchase, no questions asked — minus Stripe's processing fee. After 14 days, refunds are not available, but you can cancel anytime and keep access through the end of your billing period. Read the full refund policy.

Email support@vestwiz.app. We reply within 1 business day. There is no phone support — everything is handled by email so nothing falls through the cracks.
How do I report a bug?
Email support@vestwiz.app and tell us: what you clicked (which calculator or Pro page), what you entered, and what happened vs. what you expected. A screenshot helps if you can include one.
